Additional: William M. Huenke, 85, of R.R.2, New Bremen, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for three days. Born Nov. 9, 1896, in St. Marys Township, he was the son of Albert and Minnie (Jordan) Huenke. On Aug. 18, 1923, he married Clara Heil who died March 17, 1979. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Mary Kathryn) Maze of R.R.1, New Bremen; Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Huwer of St. Marys; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Jennie Huenke of Wapakoneta. Three brothers, Theodore, Edward and Albert; and four sisters, Bessie, Minnie, Clara McKee and Laura Dammeyer, preceded him in death. Mr. Huenke was a World War I veteran and member of the American Legion Post 241 of New Bremen. He was also a member of the New Bremen Home Benefit Association; New Bremen Senior Citizens; Koop Community Club of St. Marys and the St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen. He had served in the St. Marys Township zoning board and had been a director of the Auglaize County Fair Board. He was a retired farmer. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Vornholt Funeral Home, New Bremen with the Rev. Carolyn Mann officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery with military rites being conducted by the Legion at the graveside. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Saturday and until the time of services Sunday at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is the St. Paul UCC memorial fund.
