Additional: New Knoxville—Oscar W. Hoelscher, 83, 12439 Glynwood-New Knoxville Road, died Monday, May 6, 1996 at 1:49 a.m. at his residence. He was born Feb. 7, 1913 in Washington Township to Benjamin and Lena (Lutterbeck) Hoelscher. On Nov. 21, 1940 he married Ruby Feil, who survives. He is also survived by three daughter: Mrs. Paul (Judith) Smith of Wapakoneta, Mrs. Daniel (Sharon) Day of Tempe, Arizona; and Cynthia Hale of Columbus; one brother Casper Hoelscher of New Knoxville; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Vernon. Mr. Hoelscher was a retired farmer, a member of Auglaize Farms Board, Auglaize County Farm Bureau Board, New Knoxville Historical Society, Washington Township trustee. He was a 1930 graduate of New Knoxville High school. He was a member of First United Church of Christ where he had been a deacon, elder and choir member as long as health permited. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Vornholt Miller Funeral Home in New Knoxville. Visitation will also be held prior to the church services. Memorials may be made to the radio fund or building fund at the church.
