Additional: Michael A. Heckman, 42, 09763 State Route 219, New Knoxville, died in the collapse of an abandoned barn at approximately 10:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, near Celina. Mr. Heckman was helping disassemble the barn for lumber. He was born May 20, 1958, in Lima, the son of James and Shirley (Hanby) Heckman. His mother survives in Wapakoneta. On May 22, 1982, he married Angela Miller, who survives. Other survivors include 11 children, Adam, Micah, Bethany, Kerri, Jessica, Joseph, Kimberly, Andrew, Elliot, Lindsay and Jillian Heckman all of the home; six sisters, Shirley (Bill) Davis of Lakeview, Deb (John) Nicke and Nancy (Jon) Roy, both of Wapakoneta, Sandy Hawkins and Dorothy (Don) Duffman, both of Lima, and Linda (Al) Flotte of San Jose, Calif.; and four brothers James Heckman Jr., Richard (Laurie) Heckman and Thomas Heckman, all of Wapakoneta, and David Heckman of Tulsa, Okla. He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother, Steven Heckman. Mr. Heckman was employed at Airstream Corp. in Jackson Center. He was a member of the Celina Baptist Temple in Celina. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Celina Baptist Temple with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in New Knoxville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral home in St. Marys, where memorials may be directed to Mr. Heckman's children.
