Additional: Former St. Marys resident Mildred L. Hangen, 90, died at 5:35 a.m. July 31 at Celina Manor Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Celina, to Leo and Bertha (Harper) Dardio. On June 29, 1940, she married Anthony M. Hangen, who died March 3, 1970. Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Rita and Bob Meihls, Celina; a half-brother and his wife, Dick and Margene Dardio, Lima; a half-sister and her husband, Helen and Edmond Orchard, and a half-sister, Ruth Price, all of Lima; a grandson and a great-grandson. She taught at elementary schools in rural Mercer and Auglaize counties and at St. Marys Public schools. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Zion Lutheran Church Women, St. Marys, Dorcas Society, Missions Workday Association, and state and national Retired Teachers Association. She served as past chair of Mission Action Board of the church. She was a graduate of Bowling Green State University. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Joachim K. Wilck officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys. Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys. Contributions go to the church.
