Additional: Ezra H. Hoffman, 87, of 110 Bennet St., Sidney, died at 1:35 p.m. Monday, January 28, 1991, in his home following an apparent heart attack. He was born May 31, 1903, in New Bremen, the son of Henry and Helena (Kuck) Hoffman. On May 10, 1952, he married Atillia Petitti, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. William (Esther) Roege of Lansing, Mich.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Hoffman of New Bremen and Arnold Hoffman of Raleigh, N.C.; and three sisters, Mrs. Woodsen (Elsie) Hicks of Tollhouse, Calif., Mrs. Webster (Selma) Geib of Sidney and Mrs. Helen Simon of Bluffton. Mr. Hoffman was a 1921 graduate of New Bremen High School and a 1925 graduate of the Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati. He was employed with the WLW Radio Station as an announcer, vocalist and director. Following a move to California in 1940, he became a prominent wallpaper hanger and taught at the community college. In 1972, Mr. Hoffman moved to Sidney where he and his wife owned and operated the Sidney Motel while he continued to wallpaper, retiring in 1988. Funeral services wil be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen, with Rev. Lysle Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
