Additional: Mrs. Emma Heil, age 55, widow of Herbert Heil, died at 11:35 o'clock Friday morning (Sep. 1, 1944) at the home of her sister, Mrs. Fred Grewe, New Knoxville, where she had been bedfast for the last two weeks with pernicious anemia. Mrs. Heil was in ill health since last Christmas but had been able to be up and about until she was stricken ill when visiting at the sister's home. She was born in New Knoxville, on November 10, 1888, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.A.W. Cook, both of whom survive. On May 10, 1913, she was married to Herbert Heil who is left to mourn her death together with the nine children; Mrs. Henry B. Burden, Mrs. Bernard Nelson, St. Marys, Mrs. Loyd Tester, Juanita, Martha and Herbert Heil Jr. at home, Staff Sgt. Richard Heil, South Pacific, Cpl. Paul Heil, Fort George G. Meade, Md., and Pvt. John Heil, Camp Hood, Texas. There are four grandchildren. Three sisters and a brother are Mrs. Fred Grewe, Mrs. Walter Wellman, Mrs. Elmer Katterheinrich and Oscar Cook, all of New Knoxville. There are a great many friends here and at New Knoxville where she lived until her marriage. She was confirmed in the Evangelical Reformed Chruch at New Knoxville in 1904 from where she transferred her membership to the St. Paul's church here in St. Marys. Funeral services are arranged for 2 o'clock Tuesday afternooon at the St. Paul's church with the Rev. Geo. P. Kehl officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe cemetery at New Knoxville. Her body will be taken to the church at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning to lie there in state. Friends may call at the Yoder Funeral Home Monday afternoon from 3 to 5 and in the evening from 7 to 9. Cpl. Paul Heil arrived yesterday afternoon from Ft. Meade and efforts are being made through the Red Cross to contact Pvt. John Heil who is enroute to Camp Hood from the induction center at Ft. Benjamin Harrison.
