Additional: William M. Ferguson, 72, of Wapakoneta, died at 7:57 p.m. Monday, November 10, 1997 at Auglaize Acres in Wapakoneta. He was born June 3, 1925 in Kenova, West Virginia, son of Frank and Loretta (Ferrell) Ferguson. On October 5, 1950, he married Kathryn A. Link, and she survives. He is also survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Diane Ferguson, Fairfield, California; Dennis and Nancy Ferguson, Wapakoneta; William A. "Bill" and JoAnn Ferguson, Summerville, South Carolina; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lisa M. Ferguson, Galloway, Ohio; Nina and John Steinke, Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren, Jay and Sara Ferguson, David and Chris Mellott, Perry Holtsberry, Cory and Jordan STeinke. Mr. Ferguson had retired in 1987 from Ford Motor Company Lima. Prior to that he had worked with the Westinghouse Corp. in Lima, and was a sales representative with the Allstate Insurance Company. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, and served on the church building committee and the church council. He was past exalted ruler of the Wapakoneta Elks, #1170. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was a charter and life member of the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445, and a 1943 graduate of Blume High School. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, with Rev. Kieran P. Darcy officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where an Elks' memorial service will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Military graveside services will be conducted at the cemetery by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Memorials may be directed to the Auglaize Acres Activity Fund, or the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Research Fund.
