Additional: Arthur J. Bensman, 83, 105 N. Garfield St., Minster, died at 1:55 p.m. Sept. 28 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minster. He was born April 26, 1917, in St. Marys, to Frank and Anna (Duwel) Bensman. On May 3, 1941, he married Henrietta Poeppelman, who survives. Other survivors are three sons and their wives, Ronald and Norma of New Bremen, Orville and Ruth of Sidney, and David and Margie of Minster; two daughters and their husbands, Marjorie and Joseph Moore, Miamisburg, and Jane and Walter Homan, Findlay; a half-brother and his wife, Werner and Eulita Bensman, St. Patrick; a half-sister, Dorothy Bergman, McCartyville; a stepbrother, Jerome Seigrist, St. Patrick; 28 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a sister, a half-sister and a grandchild. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 1391, all of Minster, and St. Augustine Orphan Society. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. William Hoyng officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Contributions can be made to Darke/Mercer Hospice.
