Additional: Willis L. Wittenbrink, 66, of 116 N. Franklin Street, New Bremen, died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday May 7, 1989, in St. Rita's Medical Ceneter, Lima. He was born November 29, 1922, in New Bremen, the son of Theodore and Louis (Bushman) Wittenbrink. On April 15, 1950, he married Bernice Wiehe, who survives. Survivors also include two sons, Ted Wittenbrink, Pickerington and Kurt Wittenbrink, Buffalo, New York; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, and one brother, who all died in infancy. Mr. Wittenbrink retired in 1982 from Amos Press, Sidney. He had served on the New Bremen Village Council for 12 years. He was also a life member of Eagles Lodge 767, St. Marys. A member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Mr. Wittenbrink was also a member of the board of trustees for the German-Protestant Cemetery Association. He was a past member of the New Bremen German Township Fire Department. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, at St. Paul United Chruch of Christ, New Bremen, with Rev. Wade J. Schemmel officiating. Burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery. Viewing will be from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday May 9, at Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen, and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at St. Paul United Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to either the St. Paul United Church of Christ Memorial Fund or to the American Diabetes Association.
