Additional: John Herbert Winegardner, son of Anthony and Katherine Winegardner, was born in Perry county, Ohio, on April 6, 1847, and departed this life Sept. 30, aged 79 years, five months and 24 days. When a small child he moved with his parents to Auglaize county. At the age of 25 he was united in marriage to Sarah Gilroy, of Auglaize county. To this union were born ten children, eight sons and two daughters, the wife and six sons having preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn their loss two sons, Osburn, of Russell Point, and Floyd, of Bellefontaine; Mrs. Blanche Ward and Miss Maude Winegardner, both of Bellefontaine, four grandchildren, Chalmer, of Cleveland, Ohio; Leora, of Washington, D.C.; Hazel of Piqua, Ohio, and Jaunetta of Bellefontaine; also one brother, Frank, of New York, three sisters, Rosa Castenian, of Los Angeles, Cal.; Edith Atkinson, of Lima, Ohio, and Sarah Atkinson, of Waynesfield, Ohio. Also a host of relatives and friends. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Waynesfield. Before moving to Bellefontaine he was engaged in successful farming until about eight years ago, when his health began to fail and the last six weeks he had suffered intensely, but his last words were "God's will be done in all things."(At last.) Rest, tired feet, O rest! Earth's journey now is done, And pilgrims lose their load At set of crimson sun. The stones and thorns give pain, But heaven hath its balm, Thine was the mountain path-- It reached the Vale of Calm. We stay not thee, but ask Within thy love a place, And at the sunset gate The welcome of thy face. Card of Thanks. We wish to express our sincere thanks to our neighbors and friends for their kindness and sympathy. Also for the beautiful flowers sent during the illness and death of our father and grandfather. Also Rev. Mr. Hooper, of Waynesfield, for his consoling words. The choir for the music rendered and Mr. Kennedy for his kind services. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ward, Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Winegardner and Relatives.
