Additional: For the second time in four months death entered the home of the Henry Weinberg family. The mother, Mrs. Wilhelmina (Schwaberow) Weinberg passed away Dec. 23rd (1928) and yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock the father Henry Weinberg was called from the home. Mr. Weinberg had been ailing for many years having been afflicted with asthma, Bright's Disease and heart trouble. During the past several weeks, Mr. Weinberg's condition became more serious and the greater part of the time was compelled to sit in a chair on account of the dropsical condition. With the kind assistance of his daughters, Linda and Cora who were in the home with him, he was given the best of care. Mr. Weinberg was born in Jackson county. The greater part of his life was spent and lived here in New Bremen. For many years he was employed at the Lanfersieck-Grothaus Plow Works. In his early years here in New Bremen, he was one of the organizers of the so-called "Little Six" band in which he played for 17 years, the only surviving member of this band being John Laut. For about 15 years, Mr. Weinberg served as City marshall and for many years was fire chief. The past 14 years, he retired from work. At the time of his death he was 74 years, 9 months and 18 days of age. Funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services conducted in the home by Rev. J. C. Melchert. Interment in the German Protestant Cemetery. Friends may view the remains Saturday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock. The deceased is survived by the following children: William and Charles Weinberg and three daughters, Mrs. F.W. Bruns, Miss Linda Weinberg and Miss Cora Weinberg, the latter two at home. One brother, William Weinberg, Sr. and one sister, Mrs. Louise Tschudin, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. (following note is from the same paper) Miss Frances Bruns of Mt. Auburn, Cincinnati will arrive here Saturday for a weekend visit with her parents and also to attend the funeral of her grandfather Henry Weinberg.
