Additional: New Knoxville-Elmeda E. Wierwille, 73, 310 E. Spring St., died following a seven year illness at 9:17 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1994, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St.Marys. She was born Feb. 22, 1921, near New Knoxville to August and Matilda (Lammers) Fledderjohann. On Aug. 22, 1943, she married Rev. Nathan Wierwille who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Dr. Jonathan, San Antonio, Tex; Timothy, Ruidoso, N.M.; a daughter, Rebecca Miller, Franklin, Mass; six grandhildren, Sarah, Ben, Chloe and Nathan Wierwille; Ian and Graham Miller; three brothers, Vernon, St. Marys; Ralph and Myron, both of New Knoxville; and a sister, Mrs. Paul (Helen) Wellman, New Knoxville. Mrs. Wierwille was a homemaker. She was a graduate of New Knoxville High School and Bowling Green State University and taught elementary school for 25 years in Archbold and Cincinnati. She also served as a voluneteer "old-fashioned" school teacher at the Sauder Museum in Archbold until her illness. She was a member of First United Church of Christ where she sang in the choir for 48 years and taught Sunday School for 35 years. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Heritage Chapel of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church building fund or the missionary work of the church. Arrangements were made by Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen.
