Additional: Former Auglaize County Commissioner Robert Vogel, 65, died at 2 a.m. May 16 at his home at 04576 Salem Noble Road, St. Marys. He was born June 3, 1935, in St. Marys, to Vernon and Christina (Manzelman) Vogel. On September 25, 1954 he married Barbara Kattman, who survives. Other survivors are four sons and their wives, Mike and Eloise, Daniel and Dorine, Jeff and Ann, and John and Melissa, all of St. Marys; a brother and his wife, John and Sue of St. Marys; and 11 grandchildren. He was a farmer and worked at the former Sherman-Manson Company in St. Marys. He was an Auglaize County Commissioner for 12 years, a former Noble Township trustee and a member of the Auglaize County Fair Board. He was a member of the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and its Hospital Board of Governors, and a member of the Board of Agape Ministries and the Board of Otterbein Retirement Community, both St. Marys. He was a trustee of the Auglaize County Historical Society and the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St. Marys, where he was a member. He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, the Revs. David Woodyard and John Wine officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys. Calling is noon-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, and at the church one hour prior to services. Contributions can be made to Agape Ministries, the Auglaize County Historical Society or to the church.
