Additional: Former New Bremen resident Reuben G. Thiesing, 84, died at 7:15 p.m. Aug. 12 at Rockmill Rehabilitation Center, Lancaster. He was born Dec. 10, 1915, in New Bremen, to George and Amanda (Kettler) Thiesing. On April 4, 1980, he married Sarah Miller, who survives. Other survivors are two stepdaughters and their husbands, Angie and Ron Bezouska, Lancaster, Darla and Robert Lyons, Orlando, Fla., and a stepdaughter, Lois McGarvey, Jordon Station, Ontario, Canada; a stepdaughter-in-law, Linda Brennan, Rochester, Ind.; 13 stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Paul, two sisters, Helen Herkenhoff and Grace Schroeder, and a stepson, Ralph Weissinger. He was self-employed as a cabinet maker and craftsman, and had been employed at Minster Machine Corp. He served as a trustee at New Bremen Senior Citizens, and played trumpet in a number of dance bands in the area. He was a member of Faith Alliance Church and Woodman of the World Camp 149, both of New Bremen. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Dean Greenwood officiating. Burial is at Willow Grove Cemetery, New Bremen. Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen, and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Contributions can be made to the church's memorial fund, the New Bremen High School music department or the alumni band.
