Additional: Joan Taylor, 71, 1106 Motz St., St. Marys, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at the Lincoln Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Tenn. She was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Union County, the daughter of William and Lois (Edwards) Simpson. On Sept. 25, 1949, she married Thomas John Taylor, who died Oct. 17, 1996. Survivors include a son, Thomas Taylor II of St. Marys; a daughter, Janie (Jim) Parker of Hazel Green, Ala.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Simpson. A homemaker, Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of West High School in Columbus. She was a member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St. Marys and a member of Hawthorne Chapter, Order of Eastern Star 119, in St. Marys where she was a Past Worthy Matron. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys with the Rev. David Woodyard officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where Hawthorne Chapter 119 will conduct a memorial service at 8 p.m.
