Additional: Viola V. Sanders, 90, Wapakoneta, formerly of 812 Motz St., St. Marys, died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2001 at Auglaize Acres in Wapakoneta, where she had resided since July 14, 1988. She was born June 11, 1910, in New Bremen, the daughter of Ernst and Lucinda (Stienecker) Topp. She married Gerald L. Sanders, who died July 28, 1970. Survivors include four sons, Paul (Bess) Sanders of Minster, Norbert L. (Michele) Sanders of Virginia Beach, Va., Frederick (Helen) Sanders of Bryan and Ralph (Nadine) Sanders of Wabash; four daughters, Delores (Ralph) Hussey and Dorothy Meeker, both of St. Marys, Mary Ellen Miller of Mendon and Ruth Long of Celina; a brother, Lester (Ruth Ann) Topp of New Bremen; two sisters, Adella Anderson of Coldwater and Goldie (Robert) Byram of Piqua; 31 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Sanders Jr. and Carl Sanders; five brothers, Isreal Topp, Franklin Topp, Clarence Topp, Warren Topp and an infant brother, three sisters, Iva Covault, Lola Wertz and an infant sister; five grandchildren and a great-grandson. A homemaker, Mrs. Sanders was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, where she was baptized and confirmed. Funeral survices will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys with the Rev. F. Allen Sanders II officiating. Burial will follow at Burdge Cemetery in Montezuma. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Auglaize Acres Activity Fund.
