Additional: Ralph B. "Jake" Sweigart, 70, P.O. Box 582, County Rd 58, died at 11:55 p.m. Monday November 18, 1996 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1926 in Lima to Harry V. and Edith (AXE) Sweigart. On August 1, 1953, he married Virginia Ann Burkhart in St. Marys and she survives. He is also survived by three sons, Merlin R. New Palestine, Ind; Ronald E, Ponca City, Okla; Aaron D. Pensacola, Fla; three daughters, Mrs .Dennis (Nancy) Risner, Willard, Mrs. Paul (Greta) Houck, Tiffin, Mrs. M. John (Belinda) Shepherd, Attica, 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a stepmother Lola Sweigart Larson, Illinois City, Ill; a brother, John, Ada; and a sister Mrs. Pat (Beverly) Lime, Defiance. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Harvey, Harry Jr., Kenneth, Robert and James, and a sister Mrs. Ernest (Barbara) Crose. Mr. Sweigart was a retired insurance adjustor and investigator. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 0888 in Columbus. He was a 25 year member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Carla Knobler officiating. Burial with military graveside rites conducted by the United Veterans Council of Seneca County will be in Attica-Venice Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Foos Funeral Home. The preferred memorials are to Community Hospice Care, Tiffin, and the Masonic Lodge.
