Additional: Ronald D. Smith, 59, St. Marys, died at 11:47 p.m., Jan. 24, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. He was born Nov. 20, 1942, in Coldwater, to Wilfred and Lois (Pfoff) Smith. In October 1992 he married Betty Benson, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Tammy Wicker of Ohio City, Pam Slife of St. Marys, Tonya of New Haven, Ind, and Tracey of Celina; a daughter and her husband, Betty and Cliff Woody of Ohio City; three sons, Tony and Brian Russell of St. Marys and Ronald Smith II of St. Marys; two brothers and their wives, Billy and Karen of Naples, Fla. and Roger and Merilyn of St. Marys; a brother, Daniel of Celina, 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 31 nieces and nephews. Deceased are his parents and two sisters, Sondra Barrett and Sharon Taylor. He was a graduate of Coldwater High School and a members of the first Wesleyan Church in St. Marys. He served during the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Vietnam Veteran's Association of Celina. Services at the Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, with the Rev. Bonnie Sanders officiating. Members of the Vietnam Veteran's Association will conduct a military service.
