Additional: Victim of Theater Fire—Among those killed in the Chicago holocaust last Wednesday afternoon was Miss Rosamond Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Schmidt, former residents of New Bremen. The young lady, who was about 19 years old, had gone to the theatre with some school friends and occupied a seat in the balcony. She was found by the rescuers sitting in her seat as if she was watching the play when death came. The body was not burned and death was undoubtedly caused by suffication. Miss Schmidt will be remembered by many people in this city, she having been a frequent visitor to Wapakoneta while a resident of Auglaize county. She was a very beautiful girl and an accomplished musician. Her father, Henry Schmidt and her uncle, Wm. Schmidt moved from New Bremen to Chicago several years ago where they have been successful contractors. The funeral of the unfortunate young lady occured New Year's Day and was attended by Mr. Julius Boesel and several other relatives of the family in this county.
