Additional: Lewis Herman Settlage, age 74 years and 39 days, residing northeast of New Knoxville on St. Marys, R.R.1 died at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at Lima Memorial Hospital. He had been ill two wweeks with a heart ailment and complications. Mr. Settlage had lived all of his life of the same farm having been born there on October 19, 1876, a son of the late Fred and Mary Settlage. On June 6, 1899 he married Rosa Heil who is left to mourn his death together with their three children. Rev. Herman E. Settlage, Belvidere, Tenn., Mrs. Lawrence Schroeder, R.R. 3, St. Marys and Noah F. Settlage, R.R.1, St. Marys. One son, Rinehart is deceased. A sister, Mrs. Sophia Buckloh resides at the Settlage residence. Ther are 13 grandchildren. There are a number of nieces and nephews, five of whom, Emil, Richard, Frederick, Andrew and Ben Settlage, made their home for some time with Mr. and Mrs. Settlage after the death of their father, Theodore Settlage. The deceased had been engaged in farming all of his life. Mr. Settlage was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed church at New Knoxville and had been a teacher in the Sunday School for many years. He frequently voiced his personal conviction "I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have commmitted unto Him against that day." He was a member of the Pilger Ruhe cemetery association and served as its president. Funeral services are arranged for Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the residence and 2 o'clock at the New Knoxville Evangelical and Reformed church, Dr. D.A. Bode will officiate. Burial will take place in Pilger Ruhe cemetery. Friends may call at the residence Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday until the hour of the services.
