Additional: Lavina E. Schroeder, 95, a resident of the Cridersville Nursing Home and formerly of New Bremen, died at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at the nursing home. She was born July 13, 1905, in Burkettsville, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Tangeman) Kuhn, On Nov. 17, 1926, she married Walter W. Schroeder, who died Jan. 23, 1973. Survivors include a niece, Glenna Fraunfelter of Taylor, Mich.; and a nephew, Paul Kuhn of Lima. She was preceded in death by brothers, Tony Kuhn, August Kuhn, Alfred Kuhn and Raymond Kuhn and sisters Eleanor Ziegler, Regina Kuhn, Bernadine Kuhn and Marie O'Connell. Mrs. Schroeder was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. A homemaker, she was a member of the New Bremen Senior Citizens and various clubs around New Bremen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen with the Rev. Steve Shoup officiating. Burial will be in the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen. Calling hours will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the church with the Rosary being prayed starting at 10:40 a.m. at the church.
