Additional: New Knoxville-Clement (Clem) R. Stienecker, 84, of here, died at 3 a.m. today at his home following an extended illness. He was born on May 20, 1901, in New Knoxville, the son of August and Anna Schroer Stienecker. On April 29, 1928, he married Olga M. Katterheinrich, who survives. Mr. Stienecker was retired after teaching for 42 years. He has served as village clerk for New Knoxville and helped name the streets in the village. He was the last charter member of the New Knoxville Rod and Gun Club. He was a member of the Auglaize County Retired Teacher Association and the New Knoxville United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. Survivors include a son Don. C. Stienecker of New Knoxville; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley A. Meyer of New Knoxville; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Wright of Sun City, Fla., Mrs. Lydia Henschen of St. Marys and Mrs. Mary Hoge of Sidney. Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in the United Methodist Church, Rev. James Waugh officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in New Knoxville. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of the services Sunday at the church. Gilberg Funeral Home of New Bremen is in charge of arrangements.
