Additional: Clara Slone, 70, 514 Normandy Drive, St. Marys, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center in Hazard, Ky. She was born July 16, 1930, in Peria, Tenn., to Thomas and Pearl (Manis) Moore. On Jan. 3, 1953, she married Marcus Slone, who died Sept. 16, 1993. Survivors include one son, William (Pamela) Slone of Leburn, Ky.; one sister, Martha (Roy) Davis of Kingsport, Tenn.; one brother-in-law, Roscoe Slone of Newton, N.C.; and two grandsons, Robert and James Keller of Columbus. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Sue Keller. Mrs. Slone was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church in St. Marys. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys with the Rev. Ron Spurgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
