Additional: St. Marys—Orville B. Rider, 62, 721 W. Jackson, dispatch clerk at the local post office for the past 35 years died suddenly at 9:45 a.m. Monday at his home. He was released form Joint Township hospital only Saturday. A resident of Auglaize county most of his life, he was born Oct. 10. 1895, in Spencerville, the son of the late Levi and Imogene Workman Rider. April 10, 1920, he married Letha Heil, who survives. Surviving with his wife are one daughter, one half-sister, one half-brother, his step-mother and one grandson. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, and a brother. He was veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion, the VFW, Round Table Club, Eagles Lodge, and the Masonic lodge. He was past commander of the American Legion. Through his many years of services at the Post Office, Mr. Rider was known to many as "Bum". Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Sittler Memorial Home. Rev. Don Shaw will officiate. Burial will be made in Elmgrove cemetery. Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home.
