Additional: Wapakoneta—Norman F. Ruedebusch, 76, of Glynwood Road, Wapakoneta, died at 10:44 a.m. Monday, March 22, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born June 27, 1922 at Lock Two, Auglaize County, to Henry and Emma Kuest Ruedebusch. On Sept 6, 1952, he married Althea S. Slattery. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Bruce and Polly Ruedebusch of Wapakoneta; one daughter, Susan and Tim McCarty of Dublin, Ohio; four grandchildren Madison Elise and Wesley Bruce Ruedebusch, and Benjamin Timothy and Christopher Norman McCarty; one brother, Orville Ruedebusch of New Bremen; and one sister, Margaret Slattery of Wapakoneta. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, and infants Richard, Willis and Wilfred. Mr. Ruedebusch owned and operated Slattery Service Inc. at Wapakoneta until his retirement in 1987. Later he worked with the Mike Swaney Auto Dealership at Wapakoneta. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Wapakoneta and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served during World War II. He was a life member of the Wapakoneta Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8445, a member of the American Legion Post #330, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #691, all of Wapakoneta. He was also a member of the Woodman of the World at New Bremen. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. G. Richard Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery at Wapakoneta, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home at Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to services at the church.
