John Rable, 92, 2901 Fair Road, Fair Haven County Home, Sidney, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, died at the home on Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997, at 12:50 a.m. He was born Jan. 30, 1905 in New Bremen, son of William and Catherine (Muhr) Rable. He was married to the former Esther DeMoss, and she preceded him in death. He is survived by one niece, Sylvia Shaw, Sidney, a nephew, James Moloney, of Sidney, and several other nieces and nephews. Mr. Rable was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney, and was an avid hunter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Angels Church with Rev. Benedict O'Cinnsealaigh officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home, Sidney from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
