Additional: Claire L. Place, 91, died at 9:02 a.m. Sunday October 8, 2000, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 14, 1908, in Logan Township, Auglaize County to Stanley V. and Mary Jane (Whetstone) Scott. On August 27, 1927, she married Delmar Scott Place, who died May 18, 1973. Survivors include one son, Roger C. (Judith) Place of Toledo; one daughter, Evelyn M. (Paul R.) Zink of Wapakoneta; nine grandchilren; 26 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Norma Jean Place; one grandson, Steven Zink; one sister, Doris Evelyn Spees; and two brothers, Edgar Scott and Walter C. Scott. Mrs. Place was a licensed practical nurse and had worked at the Ottawa Valley T.B. Hospital. She was a member of the Buckland United Church of Christ and the Auglaize County Farm Bureau Women's Chorus. She was an accomplished vocalist. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville with the Rev. Jeanette Rode officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be held at the Buckland Cemetery following the memorial service. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckland United Church of Christ or to the Activities Fund of Auglaize Acres.
