Additional: Virgil H. Nieter, 63, of R.R.1, Tri-Township Road, New Bremen, died at 5:20 a.m. today of a heart condition in Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, after a seven month illness. For six months, he had been a patient at the University Hospital in Columbus. Born Jan. 8, 1919 on a farm in St. Marys Township in Auglaize County, he was the son of Emil and Alma (Schroeder) Nieter. On Feb. 22, 1944, he married Mary Ann Fischer who survives. Other survivors include three children, Mrs. Don (Peggy) Leuger and James H. Nieter, both of R.R.1, New Bremen; Jane Nieter of Columbus; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Laverne (Gladys) Rodeheffer of R.R.1, New Knoxville. Mr. Neiter was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 767. He belonged to the Home Benefit Association of New Bremen and the Farm Bureau. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen. He was a partner in the ownership of the Wayne Street Lounge in St. Marys and had been engaged in farming for many years. For seven and one-half years, he had served as an Auglaize County Commissioner. Services will he held 2 p.m. Monday in the Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen with the Rev. Larry K. May officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Grove Cemetery, New Bremen. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are the American Heart Asoociation or the Lone Pine Nursing Home activities fund.
