Additional: Gustave L. Niemeyer, 85, of Bay Road, Wapakoneta, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 1990, in Auglaize Acres following complications of a stroke. He was born June 10, 1905, in Auglaize County, the son of Henry and Annaa (NIEMEYER) Niemeyer, On Novemeber 6, 1926, he married Elsie Buddemeyer, who died March 7, 1979. Survivors include five children; Mrs. Verlin (Martha) Strasburg of St. Marys, Robert Niemeyer, George Niemeyer, and Mrs. Ronald (Donna) Mann, all of Wapakoenta, and Mrs. Vernon (Julie) Paul of New Bremen; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Lenora Gritzmaker of Botkins. Two brothers, Florenz and Oliver, preceded him in death. A retired farmer, Mr. Niemeyer also was employed as a school bus driver for 20 years. He was a life member of the First United Church of Christ, New Knxoville, where he had served as a former deacon and elder. Mr. Niemeyer was also involved with the Comrade Bible School Class, the Farm Bureau Council 26, and the Moulton Gun Club. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, with Rev. Nathan Wierwille officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Vornholt-Miller Fuenral Home, New Knoxville. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Church Radio Broadcast Fund.
