Additional: Florenz H. Niemeyer, 80, of 202 S. St. Marys St., (New Knoxville) died at 10 a.m. in his home following an apparent heart attack. Born in New Knoxville on May 5, 1900, he was the son of Henry H. and Anna C. (KUCK) Niemeyer. He was married on April 20, 1922 to Alvena S. Elshoff, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Dorothy) McMullen, of St. Marys; two sons, James of R. 1, New Knoxville; and Ned, of New Knoxville; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Gustave, of R.2, Wapakoneta; and a sister, Mrs. Ben (Lenora) Gritzmaker, of R.1, Botkins. He was preceded in death by two sons and two brothers, Oliver and Julius. Mr. Niemeyer was a retired farmer and retired employee of Landmark in New Knoxville. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, where he had served as a church trustee, deacon and eilder. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. Richard W. Sather officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Friends may call at the Vornholt Funeral Home, New Knoxville, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and until 11 a.m. Thursday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to the church memorial fund.
