Additional: New Knoxville, April 24—Lewis Henry Meckstroth, age 63, who operated the Meckstroth paint shop here, died of a cerebral hemorrhage at 6:45 o'clock Saturday evening at his home here. He had been ill only two hours. During the afternoon he had worked as usual and apparently was in good health until he was fatally stricken. Mr Meckstroth had operated a wagon-making and repair shop here until 1935. At that time he discontinued this business, seriously affected by the reduced use of wagons for farm work and opened his paint shop. He was born September 24, 1880, in New Knoxville, a son of the late Ernst and Anna Lutterbeck Meckstroth. On April 27, 1905, he married Caroline Warner who is left to mourn his death along with their five children: Leroy and Elmer Meckstroth, New Knoxville, Mrs. Norman (Elnora) Katterheinrich, St. Marys, R.R. Mrs. Vernon (Viola) Sullivan, New Knoxville and Mrs. M. D. (Marie) Sharp, Sylvania, O. There are four grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister are George H. and Benjamin Meckstroth, New Knoxville, Edward Meckstroth, New Bremen, and Mrs. Henry (Anna) Zeigler, Dayton. He was a member of the First Evangelical Reformed church. Funeral services are arranged for 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Evangelical Reformed church with Dr. D.A. Bode officiating. Burial will take place in Pilger Ruhe cemetery. Friends may call at his late residence Tuesday afternoon and evening.
