Additional: Funeral rites for Ferdinand Meckstroth, 85, of R.R. 1, New Knoxville, will take place Saturday at 2 p.m. in the United Church of Christ in New Knoxville. The Rev. Kenneth H. Worthman will officiate with burial to follow in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilberg Funeral Home in New Bremen after Friday noon until 11 a.m. Saturday at which time the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the hour of the services. Mr. Meckstroth, a retired farmer, was born May 2, 1879 to Adolph and Anna Prueter Meckstroth. On December 11, 1902, he married Wilhelmina Harlamert. She preceded him in death on July 5, 1963. On son, Edwin, who died January 3, 1963, and a son, Ray, who died in infancy in 1910, also preceded him in death. Surviving are one son, Leonard, two brothers, Theodore, St. Marys and Ed of Mount Vernon, two sisters, Miss Melinda Meckstroth of St. Marys and Mrs. Amelia Elshoff of R.R.1, New Knoxville.
