Additional: Elsie Meyer, 87, 2547 State Route 364, Egypt, died at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys following a brief illness. She was born Nov. 19, 1913, in Minster, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Seger) Bensman. On June 13, 1933, she married Lawrence Meyer, who died May 20, 1982. Survivors include six sons, Ralph (Jean) Meyer of St. Henry, Harold (Hilda) Meyer of Egypt, Lester (Ginny) Meyer of Coldwater, Dale (Shirley) Meyer of New Bremen, Larry (Jeanette) Meyer of Chickasaw and Lavern of Minster a daughter, Sally (Roger) Behr of Fort Loramie, a daughter-in-law, Eileen Ronnebaum of Montezuma; a brother, Eugene (Lois) Bensman of Wapakoneta; two sisters, Alvina (Curtis) Rickman of Dayton and Emmarita (Adam) Reise of Akron; 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Orville, a sister and two brothers. A housewife, Mrs. Meyer was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Egypt and the St. Anne Ladies Sodality. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. William Hoyng and the Rev. John Bensman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
