He was born March 12, 1923, in Celina, to Henry and Nellie (Schwartz) Leugers. On Nov. 20, 1946, he married Ruth Pax, who survives. Other survivors are two sons and their wives, John and Lucinda of St. Marys, and Jerry and Pat of Fairfax Station, Va.; two daughters and their husbands, Theresa and Charles ROWEN, New Knoxville, and Patricia and Frank PERTZ, Perrysburg; a daughter, Mary Jo of Richmond, Va.; a brother and his wife, Robert and Marlene of Celina; a brother, Melvin; a sister, Betty Agler, Celina; 13 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St. Marys, and was a self-employed carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Special Forces in North Africa and Europe during World War II. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, and the Legion of Mary. Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. David Heinl officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys. Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Contributions can be made to the church's organ fund.
