Additional: Alena M. Long, 95, 13-B Defiance Commons, Wapakoneta, died at 6:55 p.m. June 15 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born Dec. 14, 1905, in Rhine, Shelby County, to Andrew H. and Ida M. (Greve) Borges. On Aug. 24, 1926, she married Carl S. Long, who died March 14, 1975. Survivors are a son, Gerald A. of Wapakoneta; two daughters and their husbands, Ida Lou and Francis Harrod, Wapakoneta, and Phyllis and LeRoy Kessen, Coldwater; a daughter, Mary Ann Garman, Chickasaw; a daughter-in-law, Marlene Long, Rossburg; a brother and his wife, Edwin and Marry Ellen Borges, Wapakoneta; two sisters-in-law, Electa Borges, St. Marys, and Betty Borges, Lima; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-granchildren. Deceased are three sons, Harold, Delbert and Charles, four brothers, Richard, Raymond, Cletus, and Robert Borges, and a sister, Virginia Cook, and a granddaughter. She was a homemaker, and an employee of the former St. Joseph School cafeteria. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, a former member of Catholic Ladies of St. Joseph, and the Knights of Columbus Council 1272 Auxiliary, all of Wapakoneta. She was the last surviving charter member of Eagles Lodge 691 Auxiliary, Wapakoneta. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the church, the Rev. Peter Chiodo officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. Eagles Auxiliary Service is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and Christian Prayer Service will follow at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, both at the funeral home.
