Additional: Walter Otto Kettler, age 62, 801 West Oliver Street, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 5 p.m. Saturday at his home here. He had been ill for the last eight months. Mr. Kettler was a former resident of Noble Township where he had been engaged in farming on the Kettler home farm until eight years ago when he and Mrs. Kettler moved to St. Marys. Since then he had been employed at the New Knoxville Farm Bureau until his health failed. He was a member of the Noble township board of education for 14 years and had served as president of the Noble township farm bureau for several years, taking an active part in the township affairs. Mr. Kettler was born March 17, 1895 in Noble township, the son of the late William and Louise VOGEL Kettler. On November 27, 1919 he married Edith Burkhart who is left to mourn his death along with their daughter, Mrs. Carl (Emogene) HECHT R.R.2, St. Marys, and son, Walter W. Kettler, Belleville, Mich, five grandchildren, Judith, Ralph, Dennis, Marilee and Linda HECHT, two brothers, Henry Kettler of St.Marys and Frank Kettler, of Dayton, five sisters, Mrs. Gerald (Laura) BRODBECK, Mrs. David (Mildred) Hainline, Mrs. Alvina Hertenstein, all of St. Marys, Mrs. M.L. (Emma) Spicer, Celina, and Mrs. Joel (Agnes) Hayes, R.R.2, St.Marys. One sister, Mrs. Guy (Amanda) Hainline is deceased. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed church in which he had been active as a church officer, having served as deacon, trustee and elder. He was a member too of the Men's Association of St. Paul's church and had served as its president. Funeral services are arranged for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the residence and 2:30 p.m. at the St Paul's church with the Rev. Charles Schwantes officiating. Burial will take place in Elmgrove Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence, 801 West Oliver Steet, until the hour of the servies. Yoder & Long Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
