Additional: Virginia Gariety Kueterman, 73, of 306 S. Wayne St., St. Marys, died at 11 p.m., Jan. 4, 2001, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. She was born March 26, 1927, in Shelby County to Edward H. and Gladys (Davis) Leach. On July 17, 1945, she married Roy J. Gariety, who preceeded her in death. On Nov. 29, 1969, she married Ralph Kueterman, who died Sept. 20, 1995. Survivors include two sons, Bruce J. Gariety and Brian J. Gariety, both of Sidney; a daughter, Bonnie (Craig) Lamb of St. Marys; two stepsons, Steve Kueterman of Sidney and David Kueterman of Indiana; three stepdaughters, Kathy (Jeff) Fair and Diane (Dart) Cathcart, both of Anna; and Lori (Steve) Zimpher of Sidney; a brother, Charles W. Leach of Sidney; a sister, Georgiann Gregsby of Califonia; seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Kueterman was a waitress at Hussey's Restaurant in Port Jefferson and retired after 25 years. Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home in Sidney with the Rev. Vince Hoying officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
