Additional: Virgil P. Kohler, 86, died at 8:50 a.m. Aug. 12 at his residence at 15787 U.S. 33, Wapakoneta. He was born June 6, 1914, in Wapakoneta, to Phillip and Cleola (Kantner) Kohler. On June 17, 1936, he married Mary Catherine (Kate) Stinebaugh, who survives. Other survivors are a son and his wife, Virgil F. and LaDonna of Wapakoneta; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl M. of Wapakoneta; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Walter and Jean Stinebaugh, and John and Joan Stinebaugh, all of Wapakoneta; a sister-in-law and her husband, Theresa and Norbert Schipper, Botkins, and a sister-in-law, Ilo Stinebaugh, Cridersville; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sons, James H. and John T., a brother-in- law, Herbert Stinebaugh, and two grandsons. He was a farmer and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council 1272, both of Wapakoneta, Wapakoneta Flying Club, and 50-year member of Ohio and National Flying Farmers Association and Auglaize County Farm Bureau. He was a 1931 graduate of Blume High School. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Peter Chiodo officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, with a Christian prayer service at 8:30 p.m. Contributions can be made to St. Joseph School.
