Additional: The remains of Pvt. Lester F. Joyce, who made the supreme sacrifice on August 18, 1944, will arrive in St. Marys Wednesday evening on the 10:58 Nickel Plate train for reburial services. Pvt Joyce, the son of Mrs. Mary R. Joyce of South Beech street and the late Harry Joyce, entered military service on December 9, 1942, and received training at Camp Van Dorn, Miss; Camp Maxey and Camp Howze, Texas. Almost a year later he was sent overseas. He lost his life in France. He was born in St. Marys on December 8, 1921. Surviving with the mother are these brothers, and sisters: Mrs. Wilbur (Winona) Lininger, Mrs. W.V. (Mildred) Schoonmaker, Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Kettler, of St. Marys; Robert, at home, and Corp. Harry Joyce of Ft. Lewis, Washington. A brother, John was fatally injured in June 1948. He was a member of Battery A, 202nd Field Artillery Battalion. Before entering military service he was employed in Department 274B at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Sittler Memorial Home with Rev. John L. Schmidt officiating. American Legion Post 323 will have the military services. Burial will be in Elmgrove cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home afternoon on Thursday and Friday until the services.
