Additional: D. Myron "Mike" Johns, 82, 1111 Woodland Drive, Versailles, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at noon at Versailles Health Center in Versailles. He was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Auglaize county, the son of Clarence L. and Karah (Grear) Johns. On Feb. 18, 1945, he married Zemabelle "Zemie" Johns, who died in 1996. Survivors include two sons, D. Michael (Shirley) Johns and Terry Johns, both of Versailles, two daughters, Susette (Larry) Kruckeburg of Versilles and Jeanette (Joe) Bey of Fort Recovery; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nel and Ted Franklin of Fort Recovery; six grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dick Johns. Mr. Johns was owner of Johns IGA grocery store in Versailles from 1967 to 1981, when he retired. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, Infantry 37th Division. He was a member of Versailles United Methodist Church, the Eagles lodge in St. Marys, the Masonic lodge in St. Marys and the Versailles Lions Club. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with the Rev. Kelly Moody officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Fort Recovery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
