Additional: New Knoxville—Ruby Hoelscher, 80, Otterbein St. Marys and formerly of New Knoxville, died at 9:55 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2000, at Joint Township Hospital after suffering a stroke. She was born Nov. 16, 1919 in Auglaize County to Ernest and Edna Katterhenry Feil. On Nov 21, 1940, she married Oscar Hoelscher, who died on May 6, 1996. She is survived by three daughters, Judith and Paul Smith of Wapakoneta, Sharon and Daniel Day of Tempe, Ariz, and Cynthia Hale of Columbus; one brother, Ralph Feil of St. Marys; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Mrs. Hoelscher was a former telephone operator in New Knoxville. She was an active volunteer at Joint Township Hospital and also at First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville where she was a member. She was a 1936 graduate of New Knoxville High School. She was a former presiding precinct judge for the Washington Township Elections Board and a member of the New Knoxville Senior Citizens. Funeral services wil be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home in New Knoxville and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the Church Memorials may be made to Radio Broadcast Fund of the church or to Otterbein.
