Additional: New Bremen—Paul H. Hoffman, 86, 221 N. Main St., died at 6:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, April 21, 1992, at his residence. He was born May 1, 1905, in New Bremen to Henry and Helena (Kuck) Hoffman. On Jan. 13, 1932, he married Edna Wellemeyer, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Robert Shaw, Fairfield; a son and daughter-in-law, John P. and Merrily Hoffman, New Bremen; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arnold, Raleigh, N.C.; and three sisters, Elsie Hicks and Mrs. Webster (Selma) Geib, both of Sidney ; and Helen Simon, Bluffton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ezra. Mr. Hoffman was the third generation owner of Hoffman Decorating Company which he operated for many years. He was a member of Mercer Lodge 121; F. & A.M., St. Marys and the Home Benefit Association. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and a former deacon of the church. Services wil be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gilberg Funeral Home with the Rev. Lysle Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The preferred memorials are to Wilson Memorial Hospice Care, Sidney, and the church memorial fund.
