Additional: Julius J. (Jack) Herron, 69, of Kossuth, died 8:25 p.m. Aug. 5 at his residence. He was born July 2, 1932, in Celina, to Ernest F. and Mayme Fern Lemunyon Herron. He married Arliss U. Ralston Aug. 20, 1955 and she survives. Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Randy S. and Tammy of Wapakoneta and Mark E. and Crystal of Fort Jennings, and two sons, Ernest P. and Bradley K. of Kossuth; two daughters and their husbands, Amy D. and Roger Johnson, and Christine D. and James Schaffer, all of Waynesfield; a sister and her husband, Mary and Richard Butler, Front Royal, Va., and two sisters, Linda Pendleton, Wister, Okla., and Joyce Rothermel, Panama, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers, James, Robert and Alvin Herron, and a sister, Virginia Rhodes. He worked at the Sheller-Globe Superior Coach Division, Lima, and was retired from Briar Hedge Farms, Cridersville. He served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 444, New Knoxville. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Steve Coburn officiating. The American Legion will conduct military graveside services at Calvary Evangelical Cemetery, Mendon. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The American Legion will conduct services there at 7:30 p.m. Contributions can be made to the Equestrian Therapy Program at Briar Hedge Farm.
