Additional: The subject of this notice, Henrietta Christena Hufland, was born Jan. 4, 1832, in Bleicherode, Prussia, (Germany). On the 6th of April, 1854, she was united in marriage with Henry T. Geyer, a native of the same town and who was a tailor by trade. On the 5th day of May the same year the young couple left home, kindred and native land and took passage for the United States to make their home in a foreign country. They arrived in New Orleans in the month of June whence departed almost immediately for Wapakoneta, arriving here on the 12th of July, 1854. To them were born five children, four daughters, and one son. The husband, together with one daughter and their son preceded the mother, leaving three daughters to mourn the loss of their best friend on earth. The eldest of these daughters, Mrs. Adam Knarr, is a resident of our city, the next in age is Mrs. George Eversman, of Cincinnati, and the youngest, Mrs. Dr. J.S. Bodwell, of Independence, Kansas. All of them were in attendance at the last sad rites to the memory of their mother. Mrs. Geyer was an exceptionally good woman as all who knew her could testify, and her death has caused in our community many a heart to bleed who were related only by the ties of friendship. Indeed none knew her but to love her. She died 72 years and 2 days. The funeral took place from the late residence of the deceased on Monday the 11th inst. Rev. A. Hils(?) pastor of St. Paul's church officiating. Interment in Green Lawn cemetery.
