Additional: Helen L. Henschen, 78, formerly of Glynwood-New Knoxville Road, St. Marys, died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 5, 1997, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. She was born Sept 30, 1918 in Auglaize County, German Township, to Adolph and Sophia (Lutterbein) Koenig. On April 5, 1938 she married Leonard Henschen, and he died Dec. 14, 1976. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Carolyn Henschen, Wapakoneta; a daughter, Louise Lawarre, Marion, Ohio; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Ellen Koenig, New Bremen. She was preceded in death by a brother Victor. Mrs. Henschen was retired from Ametek in Wapakoneta. She was a graduate of New Bremen High School with the class of 1936, a member of the First United Church of Christ and the Women's Guild, and a longtime Sunday School teacher at New Knoxville. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, with Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home in New Knoxville. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Church of Christ.
