Additional: Carl L Hecht, 69, of 14846 Koenig Road, St. Marys, died at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 1990 in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Born January 14, 1921, in St. Marys, he was the son of Arthur and Ida (Hehmeyer) Hecht. On February 8, 1942, he married Emogene Kettler, who survives. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Judith Sampson of Van Wert, Dr. Ralph E. Hecht of Celina, Dennis Hecht of Rockford, Mrs. Michael (Merilee) Kleinheinz of St. Marys, Mrs. Scott (Linda) Gephart of Covington, and Kermit Hecht of St. Marys; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Floyd Hecht of St. Marys; and three sisters, Mrs. Paul (Leona) Schultz of St. Marys, Mrs. Ernest (Marcella) Burkhart of Springboro, and Esther Hecht of Bonita Springs, Fla. One grandchild preceded in death. A farmer, Mr. Hecht was also employed as a dealer with Funk's G Seed for 39 years and was a member of the Auglaize County Farm Bureau. A 1938 graduate of Neptune High School, he was also a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where he served as Elder and member of the Vestry. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Air Force and belonged to the American Legion Post 323. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge; the Mercer Lodge 121, F&AM; St. Marys Chapter 51, R.A.M.; William Lear High Twelve Club; Antioch Temple Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; the Auglaize County 32 Club and Hawthorne Chapter 119, Order of Eastern Star. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Theodore T. Stellhorn officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Friday in the Miller Funeral home, St. Marys, where the Hawthorne Chapter will conduct memorial services at 3:30 p.m., the Masonic Lodge 6 p.m. followed by the Scottish Rite Ring Service and the American Legion Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m.
