Additional: Ben H. Huelsmeyer was born in Auglaize County, near New Knoxville, June 3, 1884, and was a life-long resident of Auglaize and Shelby Counties. Most of his life was spent in Dinsmore Township, the latter 9 years in Botkins. Baptized and confirmed in the Emanual Evangelical and Reformed Church of Kettlersville, he affiliated with the St. Paul Lutheran Church some 38 years ago and had since been a faithful member here. April 22, 1909, he was united in marriage with Miss Bertha B. Rickert of Shelby County, with whom he was permitted to live for 43 years of happy wedded life. To there union, two children, a daughter and a son were born, both of whom suvive. In failing health for some months, he was snatched from earthly life by a sudden heart seizure. At his employment, July 14, being at the time of his death, 68 years, 1 month and 11 days of age. Preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Henry Howe and Mrs. Herman Ferlemann and two half-brothers, Wm. and George Kuck. Mr. Huelsmeyer leaves to mourn his passing his faithful and loving wife, Bertha; his daughter, Mrs. Esther Tomsett of Louisville, Ky., son Luther of Sidney; three sisters, Mrs. Sam Emgle of Swanders, Mrs. Emma Brueggeman of Sidney, and Mrs. Harry Wiehe of New Bremen; a half-sister, Mrs. Henry Hoffman of New Bremen; a half-brother, Theodore Kuck of New Knoxville; five step grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
