Additional: Melvin Paul Feathers, 70, 250 Pershing Drive, St. Marys, formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at his home following a brief illness. He was born July 14, 1930 at Clarksburg, W.Va., the son of James and Lucinda (Alton) Feathers. On Feb. 9, 1952, he married Susan Ann Hayden, who died March 5, 2000. Survivors include three sons, Paul Feathers of Des Moines, Iowa, James Feathers of Oronogo, Mo.; Steven Feathers of Des Moines; two daughters, Melody Feathers of Houston, Texas, Sarah Hernandez of Lakeland, Fla., eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Martin of Akron and Gloria Six of Barberton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Hoffman; and a brother, Tommy Feathers. Mr. Feathers was a retiree of Apex Bag Company, Spencerville, where he worked for 18 years. He enjoyed bowling. Private family services will be held at a later date.
