Additional: Ralph Eldridge, 66, 227 N. Augustus St., St. Marys, died Aug. 31 at 10:45 p.m. at his residence following an extended illness. He was born April 14, 1934, in Middlesboro, Ky., to Preston and Nancy (Daniels) Eldridge, both deceased. On Sept. 1, 1956, he married Jeannette Martin, who survives at home. Other survivors are a daughter, Rhonda Keesler, New Haven, Ind.; a son and his wife, Timothy and Tammy, New Knoxville; three brothers, Andrew, Milan, William, Tazewell, Tenn., and Fate, Big Bear, Calif.; two sisters and their husbands, Ollie and Orville Harrison, Cooks, Mich., and Virginia and Carl Martin, Arlington, Texas; a sister Addie Johnston, Bloomington, Ill.; and one grandchild. Deceased are three brothers and four sisters. He worked 10 years as a salesman at Jewel Tea Company, 20 years as a salesman at Sears in Celina and five years as custodian at Bunker Hill School in St. Marys. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Samaria Missionary Baptist Church in St. Marys. He was an ordained deacon at the church for the past 30 years and also was the church treasurer. Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Jack Burns officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church's building fund.
