Additional: New Knoxville—Former New Knoxville resident, Lydia Eschmeyer, 87, died at 5:30 a.m. today at Auglaize Acres in Wapakoneta. She was born Aug 24, 1896, in New Knoxville, the daughter of Benjamin and Anna Maria Maneke Meckstroth. On Sept 28, 1916, she married Lawrence Eschmeyer, who died Nov. 23, 1967. Mrs. Eschmeyer was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ. Surviviors include two sons, Zelotes Eschmeyer of St. Marys and Eldred Eschmeyer of New Knoxville.; nine grandchidlren; 15 great grandchildren; and three brothers Ferd Meckstroth of New Knoxville, Clarence Meckstroth of St. Marys and Rev. Arnold Meckstroth of Waverly. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Church of Christ, Rev. Leonard A. Cook officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Friends may call at the Vornholt Funeral Home, New Knoxville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the the church from 11 a.m. until time of services Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.
